Obituary

Mary Silveira, age 80, of Wilmington formerly of Scituate, passed away February 11th, at the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge following a lengthy period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank C. Silveira. Born in Augusta, Sicily, Italy she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Maria (Vazzino) Mirabella.

Mary attended Boston Schools as a young girl and was a 1951 graduate of Girls High School in Boston. She worked for a number of years at the Pastene Co. of Boston and later worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the FETCO Leather Goods Company. In her younger years, Mary enjoyed playing tennis. She was also an avid football fan and love to watch the games on TV. Mary possessed a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mary was the devoted mother of Frank S. Silveira and his wife Kelly of Wilmington, the late Donna Silveira, and the late John A. Silveira and his surviving wife Beth Silveira of Willow Spring, NC. She is also lovingly survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Sister of the late Rose Petrillo and Phyllis Foniri.

Funeral services were held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Monday, February 17th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home were held on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mary's memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter, 101A First Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-1115.
