Obituary

Pocasset – Kevin T. Sullivan 73, of Pocasset and Fort Myers, FL, formerly of East Bridgewater, died suddenly Wednesday February 5 in Fort Myers, FL. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Mary Ann (Welch) Sullivan.

Born in Brockton he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Mary Ellen (Hamrock) Sullivan, and a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton.

Prior to his retirement he had worked for over 38 years as an equipment installer for Verizon. During his retirement had worked as a starter, ranger and jack of all trades for the Cape Cod Country Club of Falmouth.

Kevin had been an active resident of East Bridgewater for over 40 years where he and his wife Mary Ann raised their 4 children. He was a communicant of St. John’s Church and a member of the Commercial Club and the Lions Club in which he served as “King Lion” and had been the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, the highest form of recognition given for exemplary service to his club and community.

He was a talented and avid golfer. During summers in Pocasset, he truly loved spending his time fishing and quahogging with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann his is survived by his loving children Barbara Lovell and her husband John, Kevin Sullivan and his wife Emily, James Sullivan and his husband John Porcaro of East Bridgewater, and Susan Sullivan of Hingham. He is also survived by his grandchildren Molly, Daniel, Katie, Stephanie, Zachary and Kevin. Kevin leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Stephen Sullivan, Noreen “Pat” Flynn, Theresa Savignano of Brockton and Francis Sullivan of East Bridgewater as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John, Daniel, and James Sullivan and Mary Johnson.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday February 12 at 10 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, East Bridgewater, with a procession departing at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be in the Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday February 11 from 3-7 PM.
