David E. Berglund, Sr., 68

Dateline: Foxboro, MA

David E. Berglund, Sr., age 68, of Foxboro passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, February 5, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Grace F. (Darling) Berglund.
Born in Norwood, MA on April 3, 1945, he was a loving son of the late Ernest Berglund and Marion (Tordoff) Berglund-Yonker.
David grew up and was educated in Sharon, and was a graduate of Sharon High School. He later served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1965-1967, prior to being honorably discharged.
A resident of Foxboro for over 45 years, Mr. Berglund had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for over 30 years at the Foxboro Highway Department before retiring.
While growing up in Sharon, he was a member of the First Congregational Church of Sharon, the same church where he was married to his beloved wife Grace 46 years ago.
David will always be remembered for his strong work ethics which included cutting wood, plowing snow in the winter, gardening, and projects around his home.
His favorite times spent were those at his log cabin in Maine, where he and his family also enjoyed attending the Fryeburg Fair.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children, David E. Berglund, Jr. and his companion Jo-Ann Nephew of Attleboro and her children Tina Fuller and Jordan Nephew, Robert B. Berglund of Foxboro and Lisa A. Berglund and her companion Leo Muro of Long Beach, CA. He was the dear brother of Robert Berglund and his wife Mary of Sharon and the late Allen Berglund. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 10:00 A.M. in the First Congregational Church of Sharon, 29 North Main St., Sharon, Burial will follow in the Wrentham Center Cemetery in Wrentham.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 11th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
