Roberta L. (Eatherton) Schofield, a resident of Everett and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 3, 2014 at the Chelsea Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Chelsea following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 60 years old.
Roberta was born in Boston on December 26, 1953, a daughter of the late Gilbert Eatherton and Mary L. (Heuston) Eatherton. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School system. Roberta worked for several years as a teachers aide for the Head Start Program at the Kennedy Center in Charlestown.
Roberta is the beloved wife of Robert H. Kane Jr. She is the devoted mother of William Schofield of Florida and Thomas Schofield of Charlestown. She is the loving Grandmother to William and Patrick Schofield. She is the beloved sister of Gilbert Eatherton of Charlestown, Philip Eatherton of Charlestown, Elizabeth Eatherton of Charlestown, Eleanor Butler of South Carolina and the late Joanne Areyzaga. She is the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Roberta's Funeral on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
