Armand J. Morgan, age 97, passed away on Feb. 3, 2014 at Mount St Vincent Nursing Home in Holyoke. He was born on May 16, 1916, a son of the late James and Florence (Constant) Morgan. He worked in the Chicopee Police Department from 1943 until 1981, when he retired as Captain. He was a communicant of St Patrick’s Church and belonged to the Moose Family Lodge, 1849 in Chicopee. Armand enjoyed traveling, going to restaurants and also belonged to a senior bowling league. He is predeceased by his first wife Claire Doherty who passed away in 1976. He leaves his loving wife Ruth Gleason Boutin Morgan of South Hadley; two daughters, Jean Gourley and her husband Bill of Duxbury, MA and Carol Bardsley of Agawam; three step children, Jean Boutin of Hatfield, George Boutin of Chicopee and Annette Chamberlin of Greenfield; his beloved grandchildren, Donna Damon, Lynn Griffin, William Gourley, Lori Pugliano, Amy Northrop, Jennifer Marshall and Christine Bingham, five step grandchildren, Michelle Boutin, Craig Boutin, Aaron Buczek, Michael Chamberlin and Matthew Chamberlin, eight great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his granddaughter Lisa Bardsley, his brothers Francis and Leonard Morgan and also by his sister Annette Kislus. Calling hours will be held on Fri. Feb. 7, 2014 from 4-7 p.m.at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A funeral service will be held on Sat. Feb. 8, 2014 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St Patrick’s Church in Chicopee at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St Patrick’s Cemetery.
