ELOISE (PROFFIT) SAYLOR, 85, passed away on February 3, 2014.
She was a retired teacher for Jefferson County Public Schools where she taught for 40 years. Eloise loved God and faithfully and actively served the church in any way that was needed. She taught Sunday school for 54 years, was a former member of Beechland Baptist and Shively Baptist church, and currently a member of Parkwood Baptist Church. She was very patriotic and loved her country. Her brother, Leonard, fought and died in World War II.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles T. Saylor; her parents, Leonard and Olvia Proffit; one sister and two brothers.
Survivors include her son, Brad Saylor and his wife Denise; granddaughter, Parker Saylor; nephew, Joe Moody, his wife Pam, and their daughter McKensie; and niece Connie Evans and her son James.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Corbin, KY.
Visitation will be from 2- 8 p.m. Thursday.
