Obituary

WAYLAND: John Kenneth Conway, Jr., 67, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham from complications from a stroke he suffered two weeks ago.
He was born in Newton on May 20, 1946 the son of Marie D. (Caron) Conway of Wayland and the late J. Kenneth Conway who died in 1975.
Besides his devoted mother, Marie D. (Caron) Conway, he is survived by his caring sisters; Lee Conway Toth and her husband Marton of Tewksbury, Lyn Conway DiBiase and her husband Robert of Carlisle and Judith Conway Courchine and her husband Kevin of Wayland. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
John has been a lifelong resident of Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1965. He attended Franklin Institute of Technology upon graduation. He served his country with honor during the Vietnam War as a SN with the United States Navy serving as one of the first military details to serve as a plank holder on the USS John F. Kennedy and he also served on the USS Lexington. For over 30 years he was associated with Microwave Associates in Burlington as a Chemical Lab Technician. He loved movies especially action films, reading history and spy novels and loved animals. He was an accomplished photographer and enjoyed recording all family events. John loved the time he spent with his family who was the center of his life. At the request of his family there will be no funeral home visitations.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherins Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland. Interment will follow in the Conway family lot in Immaculate Conception Parish Cemetery in Marlborough.
In lieu of flowers his family suggests that memorial gifts in John’s memory may be sent to the American Diabetes Assoc., 10 Speen St, 1st Floor, Framingham, MA 01701 or the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130.
