Dr. Thomas J. Brahms was born December 6, 1947 in Bronx, NY to the late Barbara (Sherry) Greenfield of Boca Raton, FL and the late Morris Brahms (both formerly of Far Rockaway, NY). He was the loving father of daughter Melissa Rachel Brahms and her fiancé Mark Manganiello of Newmarket, NH, as well as his son, Alex Adams Brahms, daughter-in-law, Erin Brahms, and was the proud grandfather of grandson, Sebastian Thomas Brahms of Beverly, MA. Thomas is also survived by his long-time partner and loving companion, Martha Brill of Arlington, MA.
Thomas grew up in Far Rockaway, NY where he graduated from Far Rockaway High School and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from Queens College in Queens, NY. Thomas earned his Master of Social Work degree from The State University of New York at Albany and then later earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Social Work from Simmons College. Thomas was a distinguished, revered, and well-respected psychotherapist for over 30 years in Nashua, NH and worked for Matthew Thornton Health Plan, Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic, and in private practice for many years leading up to his retirement.
