Cullaty, Bette Kreuzer of Weston, MA and Naples, FL died on January 29, 2014. She is survived by her three children, Susan, Dan, and Elisa, and her grandson, Phillip Purvis who is eighteen. Bette graduated from Cornell University majoring in Sociology. Before marrying her husband, D. Elliot Cullaty, she worked for Yellow Page advertising and was chosen to lead the all-male sales team. During this time, she provided for her mother, Marie Kreuzer as Bette’s father died the day before she graduated college. When her children were young, she graduated from Boston University with a Master’s in Education.
She loved theatre, art, symphony, swimming, golf, and racquet sports. She volunteered for many years at Boston Symphony and was a long-standing member of the First Parrish Church and Brae Burn Country Club. Her greatest passion was traveling and she traveled widely to every developed continent. She passed on her love to her grandson by gifting him a trip to Australia, and then to Africa. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends and was greatly admired for her positive attitude even at the end.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (Rt. 16), Wellesley, on Sunday from 2-6PM. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Feb. 3, at 11:30AM at the First Parish Church, 349 Boston Post Rd., in Weston. Private Interment will be held at Milton Cemetery prior to the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Bette’s memory to Boston Symphony Orchestra, 301 Massachusetts Ave. Boston, MA 02115 or 1st Parish Church, 349 Boston Post Rd. Weston, MA 02493.
