Danny Joe Martin, age 62, passed away January 29, 2014 at his home in Water Valley, MS. He was born August 10, 1951 in Memphis, TN to the late Wilton Trusty and Mildred Bolton Martin. He was employed for years as a welder for Crown, Cork and Seal. Danny was an artist at welding, creating numerous water towers, signs for Paris Baptist Church, and various projects throughout the surrounding area. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed cooking, playing golf, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching football games. Danny was an active, faithful member of Paris Baptist Church in Paris, MS, loved his church family and as long as his health permitted, served his church by working in Bible School and in any capacity where he was needed.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Rick Glidewell officiating. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery with Jody Clay Martin, Wilton Trusty Martin, Roberto Garcia, Christopher Garcia, Gary St. Martin, Rocky Wilder, J.D. Hardin, Ed Bedoya, Trey Lowe and Tyler Callahand serving as pallbearers.
Danny is survived by his wife, Anita Johnson Martin of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, NaTasha Elaine Hickey (Gary St. Martin) of Hot Springs, AR and Kristy Garcia (Roberto) of Water Valley, MS; two sons, Jody Clay Martin (Rachel) of Paragould, AR and Wilton Trusty Martin II (Angela Long) of Paris, MS; one sister, Sarah Kay Hodgkins (Rick) of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren, Brittney Martin, Kaitlynn Martin, Christopher Garcia, Kaleigh Garcia, Haleigh Garcia, Madelynn Hickey, Meri Hickey, Annabel Martin and Trusty William Martin; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David “Buddy” Martin.
