Mystic- William A. Furay II, 58, of 195 Oral School Road, Mystic, died October 15, 2004 at the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.
He was born October 3, 1946 in Omaha, NE, the son of Joan E. (Grosbeck) Furay and the late William A. Furay.
He married Susanne (Reed) November 26, 1966 in Ponca NE.He was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School in Chicago and was also a graduate of Drake University and the DEA Academy.
He was employed with the Federal Government with the Drug Enforcement Agency for 25 years.
In addition to his mother Joan and wife Susanne, he is survived by his son William A. Furay III and wife Kristin of TX, by his daughter Deborah Bied and husband Paul of Mystic, by his brothers Daniel Furay and wife Camille of Illinois and David Furay and wife Debby of Oregon, by his grandchildren William A. Furay IV and Sarah Furay of TX and Johnathan and Conrad Bied of Mystic and 2 additional grandchildren soon to be born and by his DEA Partner Frank Tucci.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday evening from 5 to 7pm at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at St. Mary’s Church in Stonington. There will be no procession from the Funeral Home.
