Manchester– Jean P. Boutin, 91, died January 29, 2014 at Elliot Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Trois Riveres, PQ. Canada on May 29, 1922 the son of Joseph and Eva (Landry) Boutin.
He attended Hevey School. In 2007, with 39 other West High and Memorial High students he received his High School Diploma due to his absence during his war effort. He served his country as a Corporal, Military Policeman and Medic in the U. S. Army overseas and while in France he was a French interpreter. He also guarded German prisoners of war. On his 21st birthday he became an American citizen. He held membership in the VFW Post 8214, CWV Post 1624, and American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post 2.
Family members include his wife of 65 years, Doris (Chainey) Boutin of Manchester, one son, Philip J. Boutin Sr. and his fiancee, Denise Morin of Manchester, two grandchildren, Philip J. Boutin Jr. and his wife Sally of Richmond, KY., and Sherri Ann Boutin of Manchester.
A committal service with military honors will take place on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 1 PM in the NH Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Boscawen, NH.
