Ernest “Paul” Blanchard, 73, of Derry, NH passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 at Salemhaven Nursing Home of Salem, after a period of declining health. He was born on August 2, 1940 in Derry, a son of Irene (Boisvert) Blanchard and the late Ernest H. Blanchard. Paul was raised and educated in Derry, graduated from Pinkerton Academy and was a lifelong resident of Derry. Mr. Blanchard served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He was employed with Coca Cola Bottling Co. of Salem and Manchester for over 30 years and served in many capacities during his tenure. Paul enjoyed fishing, trips to Foxwoods and a “good meal”. He will forever be remembered for his love for his grandchildren.
Members of the family include his mother of Derry, a daughter and her husband, Holly and Robert Soucy of Hudson, a son and his wife, Randy Blanchard and Helena Noriega of Derry, three grandchildren, Robert Soucy, II, Amy Soucy and Nicholas Soucy, his sister, Janet Hoisington of Derry, a niece and nephew, Wendy and Marc Hoisington.
There are no calling hours. After cremation, a Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, January 31st at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue in Derry.
