TAUNTON – Mary (Medeiros) Machado, wife of the late Amilcar Machado, died at Marian Manor on Jan. 27, 2014.
She was 95.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Antone J. and Rosalina (Mendonca) Medeiros.
Raised and educated in the Azores, she moved to Taunton in 1956.
Mrs. Machado was employed by the former John Lucey and Corcoran Shoe Companies, and later worked for the former Paul Dever State School.
She retired many years ago.
A communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church, and member of the Holy Rosary Sodality, she enjoyed Bingo; and spent many hours crocheting.
Survivors include a son, Anthony E. Machado and his wife Dianne of Taunton; two daughters, Fatima Rodrigues of Taunton, and Mary Eulalia Medeiros and her husband Joaquim of Dighton; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.
Mary was predeceased by three children, Anthony Machado, twin brother of Mary Eulalia, born in 1940, Clementine Cardoza, born in 1944,and Maria DeDeus, born in 1946.
She was also the sister of the late Angelo Medeiros.
Her funeral was held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Jan. 30th at 9 a.m. and was followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling Hours were held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Jan. 29th from 5 to 8 p.m.
