TEWKSBURY - Mary E. (McCarthy) Donahue, a former electronics and cable specialist, diedThursday, Oct. 14, at her Tewksbury home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of John H.“Howie” Donahue Jr, with whom she had celebrated a 50th wedding anniversary this past Dec.31st.
She was born in Arlington, Jan. 4, 1935, a daughter of the late James and Mary J. (Martin)McCarthy. She had lived in Tewksbury the greater part of her life.
She was employed in the cable assembly and inspection departments at Wang, and later retiredfrom Brooks Automation in Billerica.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church.
She was an avid bowler for the St. Dorothy’s Church Bowling League.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, John H. Donahue III of Brighton; two sisters,Patricia McCarthy of Somerville, Eileen Lucas of Tewksbury; and a brother Edward McCarthy ofLocus Grove, VA.
Following cremation, graveside services will be held at Tewksbury Cemetery. Time and date arepending. At her request, visiting hours are omitted.
