Obituary

FRANK GORDON CRUM, 76, and on this day, Saturday, January 25, 2014, angels were sent to take him home.

Frank was born in Glenhayes, West Virginia to William Jennings and Ora Crum. He proudly served over 20 years in the U. S. Army where he was able to see much of the world. Frank served two tours in Vietnam and retired as Sgt. 1st Class. Then he went on to work for Civil Service at Ft. Knox. He was a member of Grand Lodge of Kentucky, a Kosair Shriner, and Masonic Camp Knox Lodge 919. He loved his Kentucky Wildcats. But mostly he treasured his family. They always brought a smile to his face and gave him great joy. Frank never met a stranger. He was a very kind and loving man.

Preceded in death by his parents; sister Lucille Pinkerton; and brothers Joseph Crum and William Crum.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Crum; daughter, Cheryl Crum Horseman (Jack); stepchildren, Michael Alvey (Leslie), Tammy Garcia and James Ferrell; Papaw to Melodie (Andy), Aaron, Alex, Trever, Shelby, Michael and Nolan; great Papaw to Isabella; brother, Robert Crum ( Maxine); sister-in-law, Sharon Crumpton (Richard); and beloved pets, Angel and Kitty Sun.

A celebration of his life will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.

Visitation will be from 12 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014.
