MARJORIE (CHAPMAN) DUNLAP, a Hingham resident since 1946, died on Saturday, Oct. 9th at her home. She was 89.. Mrs. Dunlap was born in Dover, NH.She grew up in Highland Park, Michigan. She then graduated from Wellesley College in Wellesley and taught school in Detroit until her marriage. Mrs. Dunlap then came to Hingham and taught school in the South Shore area for several years. She was a member of the Hingham Congregational Church where she was active with the Monday Guild, church fairs and Bible classes. She was also a member of the Hingham Mothers Club, the Hingham Historical Society, the Hingham Yacht Club and the Wellesley College Alumnae Association.She leaves her husband, David B. Dunlap of Hingham and her two daughters; Mardi Birmingham of Hingham and Barbara Brooks and her husband Leon of Brentwood, TN.Also survived by her brothers Bill, Bob and Jack Chapman and her sister Shirley, and 8 nieces and nephews.The funeral services and interment were private.For those who wish, donations may be made in her memory to Wellesley College,Wellesley, MA 02181.
