Marilyn E. (Curran) Mullaney, a 51 year resident of Malden and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose after a lengthy illness. She was 77 years old.
Marilyn was born in Boston on August 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Lawrence R. Curran and Elizabeth G. (Fox) Curran. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1954. Marilyn worked for over 32 years as an operator for New England Telephone Company. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the B.P.O.E. Malden Lodge # 965. Marilyn enjoyed her life with her beloved husband Walter who passed away in December of 2013 and the love and care her sisters, nieces and nephews gave her during her lifetime especially the West kids including Roche.
Marilyn is the beloved wife of 51 years to the late Walter T. Mullaney. She is the devoted sister to Catherine West of Malden, Joan Matarazzo of Medford, Theresa Roche of Townsend and the late Lawrence R. Curran Jr., Catherine Hickey, Patricia Sullivan and Gertrude Toner. She is the loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Marilyn's Funeral on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 9 A.M. from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment will be at Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
