WORCESTER___Francis P. Carr, 71, of 35 Mann St., died Wednesday Oct. 13 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Cecile M. (Gremo) Carr; a brother, Norbert M. Carr of Meriden, Ct., and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie V. Brodeur. He was born and raised in Worcester, son of Romeo A. and Mary M. (Tamkavich) Carr and lived here all his life.
Mr. Carr was a designer of Astronaut space suits and measured astronauts for those suits for David Clark Co. where he worked 42 years before retiring in 2002. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College.
Francis was a loving and caring husband. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
The funeral will be held on Saturday Oct. 16 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday Oct. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.
