John P. Packard, 69, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.
He leaves his Loving wife, Lorna J. (Tarr) Packard, 3 sons; Phillip, William and Scott, 2 step-daughters; Laura L. Gamache and Naomi C. Kunkel a grand-daughter, a brother; Richard Packard of R.I., 2 sisters; Claire Garabedian in MA., and Susan Crawford of CT. He was predeceased by a brother; David Packard who died in 2013.
John was born in Worcester a son of the late Henry and Norma (Lombard) Packard. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School and the former Worcester Junior College.
John owned and operated Packard Machine for 45 years, and was a Class A Machinist, a steam car enthusiast and always looked forward to the Annual Steam Car Tours.
There are no calling hours.
Funeral Services will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
The Robert J. Miller-Charlton Funeral Home, 175 Old Worcester Rd. is assisting John’s family with arrangements.
