Obituary

Margaret A. (Bryson) McNamara, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Marian Manor Nursing Home in South Boston following an extended illness. She was 89 years old.

Margaret was born in Boston on July 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Theobald Bryson and Margaret A. (Cahill) Bryson. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Girls Latin High School in Boston. Margaret worked for over 25 years for Middlesex County Court House and was the Head Clerk for the Civil Department. She was a member of the Massachusetts Retirees Association.

Margaret is the beloved wife of the late Arthur I. McNamara. She is the devoted mother of the late Paul K. McNamara. She is the beloved sister of the late Ann McKenna, Ruth Williams and Thomas Bryson. She is the loving aunt to Maureen McKenna Keane, Denise Sestito and many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. The family expresses their gratitude to Steven Howard for being a wonderful neighbor and also the staff at Marian Manor in South Boston for their care.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Margaret's Funeral on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours are on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
