Obituary

WORCESTER-Patrick J. Walsh, 89 of 21 Sterling Street, formerly of 161A W. Mountain Street died Wednesday, October 13th at home surrounded by his family. His beloved wife of 58 years, Margaret M. “Peg” (Thomas) Walsh died in 1996. He leaves 3 daughters Mary M. Walsh of Oxford, Alice “Nancy” M. Franchi and Margaret Patricia “Patti” Welch both of Worcester, a brother, Edward F. Walsh of Worcester, a sister Anna Kamyck of Worcester, 5 grandchildren, John A. Franchi, Jr., Maria N. Krusas, Jennifer L. Pressey, Stephen P. Richards and Michael L. Welch, 4 great grandchildren, K.C., Jake, Noah and Caterina, several nephews and nieces.

He was born in Worcester the son of Edward F. and Mary (Fahey) Walsh and graduated from Boys Trade School. Pat worked as a steelworker for American Steel and Wire for 41 years, retiring in 1975. He was a former member of Sacred Heart of Jesus and St. Christopher’s Church. He was an avid golfer who hit two holes in one. He was a member of Greendale Men’s Club, Heritage Country Club Golf League and Bay Path Golf Club.

The funeral is Saturday, October 16th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, October 15th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
