McDermott, Mary V. (Coffey) of Marshfield, passed away on January 21, 2014 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Martin J. McDermott. Loving mother of Richard M. McDermott and his wife Patricia of Mission Hill, Boston, Thomas J. McDermott and his wife Jeanne of Belmont, Mary Beth (Betsy) Kasper and her husband Paul of Marshfield, David F. McDermott and his wife Kathy of Dedham, Philip McDermott of Bourne and Jeanne M. Beaton and her late husband Ronnie of Weekie Wachee, FL. Loving grandmother of 13 and great grandmother of 4. Daughter of the late Thomas and Josephine (Layden) Coffey. Dear sister of the late Madelyn Langione, Ruth Duncan and William Coffey. Mary was born in Boston. She lived in Jamaica Plain and Watertown before moving to Marshfield, where she resided for 40 years. Mary attended St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing. She was a Nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for over 30 years. Mary was a member of the St. Elizabeth’s Alumni Association. Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St. Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Thursday, January 23 from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, January 24 at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Christine’s Church, Rte. 3A in Marshfield at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury at 12:00 Noon.
