Laconia, NH-----Phelena J. Makely, 88, of 30 Holman Street and formerly of 16 McCulloch Ave., Ravena, N.Y., died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Saturday, January 18, 2014.
Mrs. Makely was born March 28, 1925 in Schuylerville, N.Y., the daughter of George H. and Juliana P. (Miner) Wood. She resided in Ravena, New York for over thirty years before moving to Laconia in 1995.
Mrs. Makely had been employed as an Administrative Assistant, Department of
Social Services for the State of New York for thirty years before retiring in 1983. She was a Friend of the Congregational Church of Ravena, N.Y. and was a member of the Congregational Church of Laconia.
Mrs. Makely was a volunteer at Lakes Region General Hospital for many years.
Survivors include her son, Daniel L. Makely, Jr. of Laconia; six grandchildren, Jo-Anne Page and her husband, Howard, of Seabrook, N.H., Lynne Paquette of Laconia, Tom Paquette and his partner, Randy Nicholson, of Comfort, TX, Andrea Chin and her husband, Don, of Laconia, Billy Paquette and his wife, Jocelyn, of Laconia and Danny Makely and his wife, Hilirey, of Laconia; six great grandchildren, C J Kevlin, Giuliana Kevlin, Isabella Kevlin, Drea Chin, Gavin Makely and Gracie Makely; several nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces and her loving companion, her dog, Chip. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Makely was predeceased by her husband of sixty-five years, Daniel L. Makely, Sr., on July 10, 1992 and by two brothers, Raymond Wood and John Wood.

A Memorial Service will be on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 6:00PM at the Congregational Church of Laconia, 69 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H. Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
A Memorial Service and burial will be held in Ravena, N.Y. on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Burial will be in the family lot at Chestnut Lawn Cemetery, Ravena, N.Y.
