Ann Marie Castonguay, 57 of Peabody, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, with her family by her side.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the loving daughter of Donald R. and Pearl L. (Michaud) Castonguay. A graduate of Salem High Special Ed. Program, Ann Marie was the first Down Syndrome teen to graduate Class of ‘79. She was active in the Campfire Girls with her sister Paula as well as a regular contender in the Special Olympics.
Ann Marie was a gentle, loving soul who appreciated all the support given to her over the years. Her family is most grateful for the loving, and compassionate care given to her by the staff at her Bridgewell residence in Peabody.
She is survived by her devoted brother and sisters, Michael D. Castonguay of Salem, Evelyn Rowe Lawson of Peabody, Paula Jean M. Ward and her husband Robert of Salem, a niece, Amanda Pearl and a nephew, Andrew Jimoh, as well as several aunts an uncle and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, January 24, 2014 from 8:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, to be followed by her funeral mass in St. James Chapel, 161 Federal St., Salem at 11:00 A.M.
