Phoeba Aleph Smith, age 91, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Shady Acres following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born on October 2, 1922 in Broxton, GA to the late Oather Todd and Aleph Trowell Todd.
Survivors include: her two sons, Coney Carter of Broxton, GA and Greg Carter of Brevard, NC, daughter, Glenda Lanier of Bonaire, GA, four grandchildren, Christopher Lanier, Nikki Dorough, Will Carter, and Erin Carter, eight great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a grandson, Marty Carter, four sisters, Bess Hodge, Addie Mae Moon, Louise Cato, and Alice Garrison, and three brothers, Pausty Todd, Buddy Todd, and Samp Todd.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 from 2:00 pm. to 3:00 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Wiggly officiating. Interment followed at Reddy Branch Church Cemetery.
