Frederick Spintig age 84 of Canton passed away January 15th at the Norwood Hospital. Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton, graduated from Canton High School and was a lifelong resident of the town. He worked for the Canton Department of Public Works for many years and retired in 1988 as Superintendant. He was an avid candlepin bowler and was a member of the Norwood Business Bowling League. He was known in Canton for his ability on the baseball and softball diamonds and was a sponsor for the Canton A’s Baseball Team. Beloved husband of Regina M. (Morley). Father of Frederick Jr. and his wife Susan of Stoughton and the late Ronald Spintig. Brother of Harold Harkins and Charlotte Dickie both of Canton and the late Alyce Plant, Beverly Vincent, Claire Whiting and Robert Spintig. Also survived by 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Monday morning at 11. Visiting hours prior to the service Monday morning from 10 – 11 am. Burial private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton EMT Assn 99 Revere St. Canton, MA 02021.
