Obituary

Worcester- Mary T. (Seilius) Staney, 86, formerly of 89 Arthur Street, died Monday, Oct. 11, in St. Francis Home.

Her husband, Joseph C. Staney, died in 1993. She leaves three sons, Joseph C. Staney Jr. of Spencer, Robert E. Staney of Tallahassee, FL, and James R. Staney of North Brookfield; two daughters, Barbara M. Ouellette of Worcester and Katherine A. Bender of Barre; two brothers, Albin Seilius of Worcester and Edward Seilius of South Hadley; a sister, Anne Seilius of Worcester; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ralph and Martha (Mortunas) Seilius and lived here all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School.

Mrs. Staney was a sales clerk many years at Filene’s in Worcester, before retiring.

She was a lifelong member of St. Casimir Church, and a former member of it’s Choir and Mother’s Guild. She was an avid Bingo player.

The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Casimir Church, 41 Providence Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, in the funeral home.
