Betty Ruth Baggett, 66, of Fitzgerald died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Milton Pate will officiate with burial to follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Chula. Steve Nasworthy, Jimmy Nasworthy, Lamar Guy, Timmy Guy, Jamie Purvis and Eddie Stuckey will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Baggett was born on February 28, 1947 in Worth County and was the daughter of James Arthur Guy and Estelle Sumner Guy, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a baby brother, Guy. She was retired from J. P. Stevens.
Mrs. Baggett is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Blondeen Baggett of Fitzgerald; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Thomas and Lurenzie Guy of Norman Park and Neal Guy of Fitzgerald; one sister, Faye Wilson of Enigma; two grandchildren, Brittany McFall and husband Lucas of Abbeville and Dean Stokes of Fitzgerald; one great-grandson, Chandler Baggett; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
