Danny was born in Boston on September 10, 1932, a son of the late Daniel E. Campbell and Maude (Davidson) Campbell. Doherty Company. He began the Charlestown Youth Hockey mite program many years ago and always had a special interest in hockey either with his own son or his grandsons. He enjoyed hanging out at the Charlestown Dunkin Donuts with the guys, and loved to read. He was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association, The Halligan Club and Bunker Hill Council #62, Knights of Columbus.

Danny is the adored and loving husband of over 50 years to Grace E. (Farren) Campbell. He is the devoted father of Sharon Melillo and her husband Kenneth of Saugus, Susan Carr and her husband Philip Jr. of Melrose, Daniel E.
