Marie-Anne (Boisselle) Sawyer, 90, of Agawam and a former resident of Chicopee was called home for a huge family reunion and entered into Eternal Life early Wed Morning, Jan. 8, 2014 at Heritage Hall, South in Agawam. Marie was born in Chicopee on July 20, 1923, a beloved daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Agnes (Coupal) Boisselle. She received her education at the former Mt Carmel School and Chicopee High School. She was a loving mother and worked hard to take care of her family. During her long life Marie was employed by several local businesses. She was especially proud of her work at the Springfield Armory during World War II. Besides her parents and her five brothers and sisters, Marie was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward, her dear son, Carl, two dear grandsons, William and Drew, and her dear great granddaughter, Kennon. She leaves a son, Gene Desko and his wife of Springfield and a daughter Marie Smyth and her husband Kenneth of Agawam; 11 cherished grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and her many loved nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and cousins. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Mon, Jan.13, 2014 at 10 AM at St John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main St., Agawam. Burial will follow in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Her family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
