Obituary

William J. J. Cambio, 74, died Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Marie A. (Pistacchio) Cambio for 50 years.

Born in North Providence, he was a son of the late William and Yvonne (Brisson) Cambio. He had lived in Smithfield and wintered in Titusville, FL since 2003. He was a member of Sons of Italy, the Military Order of Foreign Wars.

He was the Operations Officer for RIEMA. He had served in the Army National Guard for 28 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Lisa M. Dunphy and her husband, Edward of Smithfield, John W. Cambio of North Providence and Christopher J. Cambio and his wife, Christine of North Kingstown and his eight grandchildren: Carissa, Brittni, Jenna, Shane, Mackenzie, Kaelyn, Christopher and Mia. He was the brother of the late Russell and Milton Lizotte.

His funeral will be held Monday at 8:30 am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Avenue, Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation Sunday 2-5pm.
