Cecil B. Covington, 60, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, October 10, 2004 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00 Monday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Covington was born January 20, 1944, in Jesup, Georgia, to Mildred Dover Covington and the late Oliver Covington. He moved to the community in 1980, after retiring Sergeant First Class of the United States Army, serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was also a self-employed mechanic.
Mr. Covington is survived by his mother: Mildred Dover Covington, Elizabethtown, NC; two brothers: Steve Covington, Watha, NC and Ray Brooks, McRae, GA; three sisters: Evelyn Poole, Dublin, GA, Virginia Ann Williams, Alamo, GA and Ellen Merritt, Bladenboro, NC; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry Lee Covington and one sister, Mamie Elizabeth Brooks.
