WORCESTER-Ethel K. (Smith) Berry, 93, of 13 Larch Street, died Sunday, March 17th in Clark Manor Healthcare. Her husband George Berry died in 1958. She leaves 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by 2 sons Henry Berry and George Berry, Jr.; 4 brothers Milton, Thomas W., Stanford and Xville Smith; and her sister, Sally Battles.
She was born in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Harry and Sarah Smith and had lived in Worcester for 70 years. Mrs. Berry had been a teacher’s aide at the Edward Street Daycare Center for many years. She was a member of John Street Baptist Church and the Nakomis Temple #36. She was a devoted mother who showed faithfulness to her family.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 20th in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 19th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester.
