Obituary

William A. Hageman, 76, of Ben Hill County, Georgia, died Sunday, October 10, 2004, at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be at 4 P.M. Monday, October 11, 2004, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Land, Jr., Rev. J.A. Clements and Rev. Danny Lovett officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 P.M. Sunday.

Mr. Hageman was born June 12, 1928, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Albert L. and Mamie Irene Gibbs Hageman. He lived in the community all of his life. Mr. Hageman started out with Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, retiring after forty-one years as a conductor with CSX Railroad and was a member of the United Transportation Union. He also retired as a Staff Sergeant with the National Guard. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and the adult men’s Sunday school class.

Mr. Hageman is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law: Larry and Rhonda Hageman, Stockbridge and Ricky and Angie Hageman, Fitzgerald; two step-daughters and step sons-in-law: Charlotte & Eddie Keen and Bonnie and Dallas Helms, all of Wilcox County; six grandchildren; brother: John Hageman, Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Taylor Hageman.
