Winifred E. “Winnie” (Garfield) Burnham, 86, of Abington passed away on January 4th in the Morton Hospital after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard H. Burnham.
She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late William H. and Lena (Murphy) Garfield.
Winnie was a life time resident of Abington and was a graduate of Abington High School. She loved to read, play cards and travel. Winnie also was an avid bowler, playing candlepins at Timberlanes and ten pins at West Gate. She also played golf and was a member of the ladies league at Rockland Golf Couse.
She was a volunteer at the Abington Library, loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joyce Meszaros and her husband James of Middleboro, Natalie Newcomb and her husband Paul of Hanson and Janet McPhail and her husband Matt of Abington; also her grandchildren, Jonathan and Eric Newcomb, Kathryn Lucas, Amy Joyce, Peter, Kerri and Allison McPhail and the late Bryan Meszaros.
Her funeral services will be on Wednesday January 8th at 10:15 from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St.( Rte 58 @ the rotary Circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00AM in the St. Bridget Church, Abington.
