Bengt E. Bjarngard, long-time resident of Winchester, Massachusetts died peacefully, and fittingly, as the snow was falling on January 3, 2014. Bengt was 79 years old and is survived by his wife, Ulla, of 54 years, daughter, sons and their families.
In addition to being a loving husband, father and grandfather, Bengt was an enthusiastic outdoorsman and passionate forester. He earned a PhD in radiological physics at the University of Lund, Sweden and pursued his career in the United States. Bengt worked as a professor at the Harvard Medical School 1969-1989, at Brown University 1989–1995 and the University of Pennsylvania 1995–2000 specializing in radiation oncology.
In place of a formal service, Bengt's family would like you to spend time with your loved ones enjoying nature in his memory.
