Maria “Connie” (Antunes) Dubois, 85, of Dartmouth died Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Albert O. Dubois.
Born in Westport, daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Mendes) Antunes, she had lived in Dartmouth for most of her life. Prior to retirement in 1983, she was a utility worker for the former Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of New Bedford for over 35 years, and she also had been helping people as a caregiver. Mrs. Dubois was a Communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth, a member of the Goodyear Seniors Club, she volunteered at the Dartmouth Council on Aging and she also enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include 2 sons: Dennis Almeida of Dartmouth and Robert Dubois of Acushnet; 2 daughters: Linda Mello of New Bedford and Jennifer Sylvia of Acushnet; a brother: Antone Antunes of Westport; 3 sisters: Emilia Andrade of Westport, Deolinda Cangiano of Westport and Adeline Morris of Bristol, RI; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Rose Manchester, Alice Moore and Mary Perry.
Funeral services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Monday 4 - 7 P.M.
Interment will be private.
