Obituary

Daniel McBride, 94, of Tewksbury, MA, formerly of Edina, Minnesota, and Reading, MA, December 30, 2013. Born in Scotland in 1919, he came to the Boston area with his parents and younger brother. He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Frances Hatton McBride. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Linda McBride Willis and her husband Jeffrey, of Tewksbury, MA, a brother James McBride and his wife Marjorie of West Yarmouth, MA, a sister Audrey Brown and her husband Donald of Wyomissing, PA, a daughter-in-law, Susan Harding McBride of Los Angeles, and two grandchildren, Alec Willis of Tewksbury, Ma, and Holly McBride of Oak Harbor, Washington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son, Danny McBride, and two grandchildren, Derek McBride and Bonnie McBride. Graduate of Somerville High School; held degrees from Bentley College and Boston University. Served in WWII in the Mediterranean Theatre as squadron navigator, 57th Bomb Wing, received six campaign stars for operations based in North Africa, the Distinguished Flying Cross and participated in 66 operations for which his unit received Presidential badges. He was employed by Honeywell, Inc. for 32 years, in Massachusetts and Minneapolis, MN, as Information Systems Controller for Western Europe and the Pacific, and later as the Corporate Director of Accounting Policy. He was a member of the Financial Executives Institute in both Massachusetts and Minnesota. He and his wife Frances are long-time members of Colonial Church, Edina, Minnesota. Current arrangements are private. Interment will be in West Parish Cemetery, Andover, MA. A memorial service is planned for later in the spring.
