New Bedford – Ernesto E. deFraga died on January 3rd at home. He was the beloved husband of Eduina P. (Freitas) of New Bedford. Mr. deFraga was the loving father of 2 children: Jose Fraga and the late Maria Fraga, loving brother of Helena Fraga and Maria Fraga both of California, Fatima Hilario od Terceira and Agostinho Fraga of New Bedford, he is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Ernesto was born in Corvo, Azores, son of the late Palmira Helena (Avelar) and Jose Augusto deFraga, moved to the New Bedford area in 1971. He worked at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church as a Sexton.
Mr. deFraga’s funeral will be Tuesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St in New Bedford, beginning at 8:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-8 P.M.
