Obituary

Edna D. (Pooler) Hollien age 84 of Kingston, died Thursday January 2, 2014 at Tufts Medical Center after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late George F. Hollien and loving mother of Judy A. Hollien of Brockton.

Edna was born and raised in Stoughton, a daughter of the late Malcolm and Alice (Sylvester) Pooler and had lived in Kingston for the past 15 years. Previously she had lived in Halifax and Brockton.

Edna had retired from Brockton Hospital as supervisor of the sewing room and had also worked in the central sterilization and housekeeping departments. Previously she had worked at Shawmut Garment Factory in Stoughton.

In her free time, Edna enjoyed crafts, reading and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed worldwide travel and vacations in Florida but most importantly she loved her cat Angel. Edna was especially proud of her daughter Judy.

Edna was the sister of Paul Pooler of Georgia, Earl Pooler of Florida, Franklin Pooler of Milford, MA; Ethel Thibeault and Marion Cloudman both of Brockton, Dorothy Williams of W. Virginia, Kenneth Mitchell of Nevada and the late George and Malcolm Pooler. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Monday 4-8 pm. Her Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 am followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
