Methuen – Michael T. Souliotis, Jr., 66, of Methuen, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia M. (Blouin) Souliotis, to whom he was married for 39 years.
Born in Haverhill on October 2, 1947, he was the son of Kalope (Makrogolous) Souliotis of Haverhill and the late Michael T. Souliotis, Sr. Michael graduated from Haverhill High School in 1965 and then from Northern Essex Community College with an associate’s degree in liberal arts. He proudly served his country in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Korea. Michael worked for Borden Chemical in North Andover for 29 years and then as a senior R&D plastics technician with W.R. Grace in Cambridge for 14 years. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was also an avid barbecuer and barbecue smoker.
Michael will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia; mother, Kalope; son, Nick Souliotis and his wife, Amanda of Amesbury; 2 cherished grandchildren, Audra and Elijah; 2 sisters, Carrie Law and her husband, Rob of Haverhill and Sandra Turner and her husband, Joe of Plum Island; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Michael’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 5 – 7:30 PM. At the request of the family, funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested, in Michael’s honor, memorial contributions be made to the Veteran’s Northeast Outreach Center, 10 Reed Street, Haverhill, MA 01832.
