Laconia---Kenneth C. Clough, 68, of Laconia, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 with his family by his side.
Ken was born November 6, 1945 in Philadelphia, Penn., the son of the late Janette (Houston) Morrill and Fred Clough Sr.
They moved to the family home in Shapleigh, Maine where he spent a lot of time with his grandparents and worked on the farm. He attended Nute High School in Milton and was proud to enlist in the U. S. Navy as an electrician’s mate during 1964-1969, earning several commendations, ribbons and medals, including the Navy Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service and National Defense medals.
Ken continued his electrical career for over forty years throughout the New England area, starting his own Bachman Electrical Corp. in Lawrence, Mass. and moving the business to Ossipee, N.H. He later became estimator/project manager and part owner of B&B Electric with his uncle, Bruce Houston and Uncle Barry Houston in Shapleigh, Maine. He moved to the Laconia area in 1998 and went to work for Eastern Electric in Portland, Maine. After retiring, he enjoyed many vacations travelling the coast of Maine. Ken enjoyed his trips to Disney with his children. His favorite time during the holidays were spent cooking with his family.
Ken is survived by his wife, Katherine (Johnson) Clough, of Laconia; his sons, Andy Clough of Manchester, Rick Guidi, Tom Guidi and Bob Guidi all of Meredith and Tim Guidi of Gilford; a daughter, Angela Marsh, of Meredith; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer, Ricky, Ryan, Riley, Matt, Allie, Bobby, Tyler, Christopher, Nicholas, Sara and Michael; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Fred Clough, Jr. and Donald “Sam” Morrill, Jr., both of Wakefield; seven sisters, Candy Arthur of Rochester, Dawn Tinkham of Milton, Janette “Gigi” Downs of Wakefield, Kimberly Tompson, of Milton, Chris Nadeau and Kelly Rocheleau, both of Farmington, and Allyne ”Duke” Carberry, of Ossipee; a brother-in-law, John Johnson, of Winnisquam and several nieces and nephews. Besides Ken’s parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Julie Clough.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 2:00-4:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H.
A Funeral Service will follow the calling hours at 4:00PM also at the Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service, with military honors, will be held at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H. on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00AM.
