Eleanor J. Calvert, age 95, passed away on December 22 at the Sutton Hill Center in North Andover. She was born in Lawrence on February 9, 1918, the daughter of the late James L. Batts Sr. and Katherine (Mulcahy) Batts. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence. As a young woman Eleanor was employed at the former Massachusetts Electric Company office on Essex Street in Lawrence and later at the Lawrence YWCA.
Eleanor was the devoted wife of the late Robert Calvert who passed away in 1987. She and her husband Robert were long-time residents of Methuen. They both enjoyed traveling, especially to Vermont and the Maine seacoast.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by brothers James Jr. and John and sisters Eileen McCarthy, Mary Reusch, and Dorothea Batts. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the kind and compassionate care Eleanor received while a resident of the Sutton Hill Center.

Her funeral service will take place immediatly following the wake at 12:00 Noon in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, Massachusetts.
