Obituary

Frances Cecelia (Neece) St. Pierre, age 93, peacefully passed away on Dec. 28, 2013 at Wingate of South Hadley Nursing Home. She was born on Oct. 6, 1920 in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. Her parents were the late Joseph and Henrietta (Godek) Neece. She is also predeceased by her brothers Robert and Richard Neece and by her husband Albert St. Pierre who passed in 1978. She was a graduate of Holy Name Grammar school and Chicopee High. She was a communicant of the former Assumption Church now Holy Name Church in Chicopee. She worked for many years at the former Stevens Arms, Chicopee Undergarment and the Elms College. She leaves her loving son David St. Pierre and his girlfriend Brenda Chapman of East Springfield; Kathleen Healy of Chicopee; sister-in-law Esther St. Pierre; her 3 grandchildren David Pepin, Matthew St. Pierre and his girlfriend Lize Brault and Meagan St. Pierre and her fiancé William Harnum Jr.; 1 great grandchild Layla Grace Harnum and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. Frances was our family historian, an avid reader, a master of crossword puzzles, loved musicals and John Wayne movies. Her selflessness was immeasurable, her faith never faltered and her love and pride for her family was radiant. Thank You for your unconditional love and support, always. We love you, your family. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral Friday Jan. 3, 2014, from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by a Memorial Mass in Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Assumption Church (104 Springfield St) at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to Chicopee Public Library 339 Front Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
