Jim Persons, age 92, of South Dartmouth, MA died December 27, 2013. He was the beloved husband of the late Marian Dreisbach Persons and is survived by his three daughters, Deborah Brooke of South Dartmouth, Pauline Brookfield of New York City, NY and Carla Hatfield of Hingham, MA, two sons-in-law, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
A graduate of Kenyon College, Ohio and Michigan's General Motors Institute, Jim managed the Pontiac dealership, Whitney J. Bent, Inc. and later worked in inventory control at the Acushnet Company. He served as First Sergeant in the Pacific during World War II, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of New Bedford, the Wamsutta Club, and the Old Dartmouth Historical Society.
Blessed with a wonderful sense of humor, he was an avid golfer, a die-hard Red Sox fan, and a treasure to his family.
