Gerard R. Carpinella, of Melrose died unexpectedly in West Palm Beach, FL. He was 77.
Mr. Carpinella was raised in Medford the son of the late Anthony and the late Dorothy (Conte) Carpinella. He served in the US Army and when he returned from the military worked as an insurance agent throughout his life. He operated an agency in Medford and in Wakefield offering Sentry and Metropolitan Insurance. After his retirement he enjoyed winters in Florida where he was president and a member of the Board of Directors of the Breakwaters condominium community.
The beloved brother of Jean Ciccarello and her husband Joseph of Peabody, He was a devoted uncle to Carmine Manganiello and his wife Susan of Peabody and their children Nicholas, Annmarie and Gina Beth. He was also the brother-in-law of the late Freddie Manganiello.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Monday, December 30th at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford with military honors.
