FALL RIVER … Doris A. (Fournier) Manning, 88, of Fall River died Monday, December 23, 2013 after a brief illness. She was the widow of Francis J. Manning.
Born in Fall River a daughter of the late Joseph and Corinne (Guay) Fournier and had been a lifelong resident of this city. She was a communicant of St. Bernadette’s Church (the former Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church) in Fall River.
Mrs. Manning worked as a trimmer at the former Shelburne Shirt. She had also worked at the Coughlin School in the cafeteria. She was a longtime member of the Lady’s Guild with the former Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed working on crafts with her friends.
Survivors include a son Patrick Manning of Fall River, 2 Daughters: Frances B. Guiney and her husband Michael of Fall River and Kathleen Gray and her husband John R. of Foxborough, MA, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Donald, Lionel, Peter, and Roger Fournier, Mugette McAndrew, and Georgette Fournier.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 8AM at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM at St. Bernadette’s Church, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Interment will be in Newport Memorial Park, in Middletown, RI. Calling hours will be Thursday 5 – 8 PM.
