Obituary

Edith A. (Shaughnessy) Savage, 84, of Millis died Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Center in Natick. She was the beloved wife of Walter Savage who died in 1995.

Born in Framingham on July 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Martin L. and Mary W. (Anderson) Shaughnessy. She was a resident of Millis for over 50 years.

Mrs. Savage grew up in Framingham and graduated from Framingham High Scholl in 1947 and the Mansfield Beauty Academy in 1948.

She was a hairdresser for many years at Marilyn’s Beauty Salon in Holliston. She had also worked at the Norfolk ice Arena while her children were young.

Mrs. Savage enjoyed knitting, rug hooking and baking.

She is survived by her son, Marc L. Savage of Seattle, WA, two daughters, Paula A. Savage of Millis and Maureen L. Thomas and her husband Brian of Greer, SC, her grandson Connor Thomas, her brother Ronald Shaughnessy and his wife Windy of Alabama and two children of her heart, Debra Houle of Ashland and Brian Mushnick of Norfolk.

She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and godchildren

She was the sister of the late Ruth Snellman and Martin Shaughnessy, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber Street in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Tuesday, December 24 at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Thomas Church, 111 Exchange St. in Millis at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 - 8 p.m.
