Obituary

Donald Bradford Morse, age 69, of Brockton, passed away peacefully December 17, 2013 at the West Roxbury Veterans Medical Center following a period of failing health. He was the husband of Eleanor (Hirst) Morse. Born in Avon, he was the son of the late Alonzo and Blanche (Hobson) Morse. Sergeant Morse was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, 1967-1969. He was wounded in combat and was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor, two Purple Hearts and several other service medals.

In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by his daughter Lisa Bishop of Raynham, two sons Walter Greene-Morse of Fort Meade, Maryland and Michael Morse of Illinois; eleven stepchildren; Lea Glidden, Candy Greene, Bobby Greene, Louise Walmsley, John Ducharme, Richard Ducharme, Darlene Ducharme, Penny Sue Greene, Cindy Greene, Thomas Greene and Brian Bedard. His brother David Morse of Olympia, WA, and sisters Jeanne Leonard of Eagle River, AK, Sylvia Swale, and his twin sister Doris Drake both of Brockton. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews who all held a very special place in his heart.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 1-4pm, with a service beginning at 3pm. Burial with Full Military Honors in the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Road Augusta, Maine will be held on January 6, 2014 at 1PM.
